Peter Garforth graduated with a BA Hons degree in Architecture from Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) in 1994 and completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture at LJMU in 1997. Following the completion of his university courses he moved to Jersey, Channel Islands for 4 years working for Nigel Biggar & Partners gaining invaluable experience on a variety of commercial and residential schemes before gaining his final Part 3 qualifications.

 

Following a working holiday in Australia, Peter returned back to the UK to work as a Project Architect for The Fairhurst Design Group in Manchester primarily working on a new headquarters for a large pharmaceutical company.

 

Peter relocated back to Jersey in 2003 to work for BDK Architects as the Project Architect for a new build extension and refurbishment of the Day Surgery and Minor Ops at Jersey General Hospital. He was involved in the design and detailed development of the complex scheme, which required the existing department to remain fully operational throughout the phased building works.

 

Peter moved to Morris Architects in 2007 and has been instrumental in the successful delivery of a number of high profile complex new build and refurbishment schemes ranging between £200K and £51M for healthcare, residential, commercial and civic schemes from brief inception through to completion on site. As an accomplished lead consultant, Peter has honed his design, technical expertise, and management acumen throughout his time at Morris Architects successfully leading a number of projects that have since been awarded the prestigious Project of the Year from the Jersey Construction Council (JECC).

 

Notable projects include the refurbishment of the Intensive Care Unit, New MRI and CT Scanners at Jersey General Hospital, the former Southampton Hotel redevelopment, the redevelopment of Maison St Brelade residential care home and a new build of 147 units for a residential social housing development.

 

Peter qualified as a Chartered Architect in 1999 and is a registered member of the Architects Registration Board and Royal Institute of British Architects.

 

Peter became a Director of Morris Architects in 2017.
