Morris Architects is delighted to announce another successful planning approval, secured for the regeneration of the former La Marquandarie site.
Located within a sensitive coastal setting in the National Park, this was a particularly challenging project that required a careful, design-led approach. The approved proposals sensitively redevelop the existing granite building, delivering a generous extension and a change of use to provide high-quality staff accommodation in support of the St Brelade’s Bay hospitality industry.
The scheme delivers well-proportioned, comfortable living spaces alongside a robust sustainable transport strategy, enhanced biodiversity measures, and meaningful landscape regeneration.
This approval reflects the strength of a detailed and well-considered submission, as well as the value of a collaborative, positive, and persistent approach. We worked closely with the Planning Department and statutory consultees throughout the process, demonstrating how complex sites can successfully balance heritage, landscape, sustainability, and local need.
Director Ian Marett noted that the scheme benefited greatly from an experienced and engaged client, supported by a talented team within the practice, resulting in this positive outcome.
