Andrew Morris commenced his career at HLM Architects in London, who specialised in healthcare work at that time, where he became a Regional Manager and shareholder. Whilst with HLM Architects he undertook various health, research, retail and residential projects. These included Cheltenham General Hospital and Pathology Laboratory, feasibility for the refurbishment of Whipps Cross University Hospital, Whittington Diagnostic Block and Whittington Hospital Telephone Exchange. He went on to more complex buildings such as Shrivenham Research Laboratory, Institute of Food Research Laboratory at Reading University and the refurbishment of Smithfield Central Market in London. Other projects included Weymouth town shopping centre, residential projects in and around London and Hotel refurbishment in Europe.
He then joined John Richards & Partners in Jersey, which was later formed into Morris Architects Limited.
Andrew has developed the practice to have a focus on healthcare, residential and retail work, which has culminated in working with the States of Jersey and private clients on various projects. These include recent projects such as: the refurbishment of The Cedars, De Quetteville Court and Pomme D’Or Farm estates; the new houses at Le Squez; the redevelopment of the Southampton Hotel; the new offices to the rear of Marks and Spencer St. Peter; the development of Marks and Spencer St. John; the extensions to and refurbishment of Maison St. Brelade Care Home in St. Brelade; the Intensive Care Unit and Temporary High Dependency Unit.
